Tournament Format

All divisions will consist of pool play followed by a single-elimination bracket. Full consolation will be available for teams eliminated in bracket and consolation results will impact players’ USA Roundnet rankings.
Pool play will consist of one game to 21 with a hard cap of 25. Bracket play will consist of a best-of-three series in the main draw. All placement brackets will feature a best-of-one series (excluding the 3rd place match).

Open 5.5+ and Women’s 4.5+ Division will feature at least one power pool, determined by the number of teams in the division.

Fewer than 24 teams : 1 power pool
24-39 teams: 2 power pools
40-59 teams: 3 power pools
60+ teams: 4 power pools

Power pool spots will first be awarded to Regional winners and then to the teams with the highest combined USAR ranking as of the June rankings update.
Teams will be seeded based on players’ combined USAR ranking.

All other divisions will feature pool play with teams seeded based on players’ combined USAR ranking where available.

PRIZES AND MORE

The US National Championship incorporates multiple USAR priorities aimed at legitimizing and advancing the sport of roundnet. Some of the biggest priorities for this event include:

  1. Cash Purse: $2000 minimum cash purse covering payouts for Gold+ ($500, $250, $150), Women’s ($500, $250, $150), and Bronze ($200) Divisions. Pending early registration by May 31, the cash purse will be reviewed and increased proportionate to divisions above 100 teams registered.

  2. Team USA Fundraising: a portion of tournament fees will be used to support expenses for Team USA’s World Title Defense in London. By attending Nationals, you are supporting Team USA.

  3. Officiating, Media, and other Staff: to further professionalize and improve player experience, your registration fee will be used to pay observers and hire media personnel for the weekend. If you want to get paid to work at the National Championship. Apply here.

  4. 2025 National Team Implications: The Open Gold+ and Women’s National Champions will earn a spot on Team USA for a 2025 Pan-American Championship. More details are to be determined in collaboration with other NGBs.
