WE ARE USAR

OUR PURPOSE

Roundnet has been around since 1989, but USA Roundnet (USAR) is a brand new organization advocating for the growth of roundnet. We’re here to create awareness for the sport, foster player advancement, support roundnet athletes, develop inclusive roundnet communities, and represent the United States of America on the global stage.

OUR
LEADERS

USAR is powered by volunteers, led by five board members. Our board members include Ben Dantowitz, Rohil Senapati, Ezra Dantowitz, Ethan Datwyler, and Adin Klassen. Each of our board members share a personal motivation to help the sport reach its full potential.

our initiatives

Our 44 committee members make up eleven committees, each working hard on their own initiatives. These initiatives include the following: affiliate partnerships, communication, diversity/equity/inclusivity, finance, grievances, memberships, national team, officiating, tournaments, rankings, rules, and youth. Together, these committees are pushing the growth of roundnet to new levels as the unified governing body of roundnet in the USA.

FAQs

  • USA Roundnet (USAR) is the National Governing Body (NGB) for roundnet in the USA. In addition to focusing on the growth and development of roundnet nationally, USAR will be collaborating on the globalization of roundnet in concert with the International Roundnet Federation and its members (other NGBs).

USAR is made up of volunteers who are devoted to seeing roundnet grow and succeed. Historically, roundnet has grown mostly organically. However, USAR has been founded to guide and push the growth of the sport even further, with the goal of the sport making it to the olympics and beyond. Every dollar of membership funds initativies that serve these purposes.

  • USA Roundnet exists for you. Our committees have been working hard to create features that aim to improve your roundnet experience. Some of these include a rankings system to highlight progression for players of all levels, a tryout process to select a USA National Team, a membership program to ensure tournament-goers are properly insured in case of injury, a community feedback system to value and incorporate the roundnet community’s opinions, and so much more.

  • As USAR builds its foundation, local roundnet organizations (LROs) will be critical to advancing roundnet by growing their own local roundnet communities.

Additionally, LROs seeking to elevate their community and players on the national stage will have the opportunity to run sanctioned events for inclusion in the USA Roundnet Rankings System.

USAR is working hard to develop processes that support LROs to run events in legitimate and sustainable ways, including supporting access to host liability insurance and providing players at sanctioned events with medical insurance.

Long-term, USA Roundnet is developing strategic partnerships to extend support to LROs through means such as sponsorships and opportunities to run national-level events (e.g. Team USA activities and more).

  • Yes. USAR is excited to build upon the 2024 National Series and estabapplish Sectionals alongside Regionals and Nationals. Read about it here.

  • Spikeball Inc previously operated the Spikeball Roundnet Association (SRA) as the de facto governing body of roundnet in the USA. As the global roundnet community began to organize around the International Roundnet Federation to promote the globalization of roundnet, it became increasingly clear that the USA needed a national governing body operating separately from Spikeball. That's where USA Roundnet (USAR) comes into play.

As USAR establishes itself as the National Governing Body (NGB) for roundnet in the USA, Spikeball will continue to host events under the new name of "Spikeball Tour Series" (STS). Together, USAR and the STS are moving forward as separate entities. While both parties are united in advocating for the growth of roundnet, USAR is able to put roundnet first in its non-profit mission and answers directly to its members.
